National Aquaculture Group (NAQUA) earns BAP Certification
The Global
Aquaculture Alliance (GAA) congratulated National Aquaculture Group (NAQUA) for
achieving the prestigious Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification early
January 2015. NAQUA is now among the 14 companies worldwide to attain the
four-star Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) status, denoting that its Processing
Plants, Farms, Hatcheries and Feed Mills are all BAP-certified.
NAQUA is one
of the world’s largest fully integrated aquaculture operation of its type in
the world. Our farms are strategically located by the coast of the Red Sea in
Saudi Arabia, 180 kilometers south of the historic port of Jeddah, close to the
town of Al Lith.
NAQUA is
qualified to offer four-star BAP Red Sea Shrimp and three-star BAP Red Sea
Barramundi.
Currently,
the company produces different marine species ranging from fish (Red Sea
Barramundi) and shrimp (Red Sea Vannamei) to marine algae and Red Sea, sea
cucumber. The 16 shrimp farms with 511 open inland ponds has a technical
capacity of about 35,000 MT annually and 3 circular fish cage farms consisting
of 14 to 24 cages each, with technical capacity of 6,5000MT of fish production
per year.
The
