Vertical Integration

When we set up our operation, we deliberately chose a site far from nearest cities and industry to ensure our farms were located in a pristine environment. One of the unique advantages of this is that our operations are almost entirely vertically integrated giving us the maximum control over the everything is carried out to the highest entire production process. In this way, we can ensure that quality level.

National Aquaculture Group is one of the largest aquaculture operation of its type in the world. We are proud to breed different marine species ranging from fish and shrimp to marine algae and sea cucumber.

National Aquaculture Group - History

An engineer of vision who is also passionate about marine products and, in the 1970s when he was travelling in the Philippines to recruit some personnel for civil engineering projects in Saudi Arabia, he visited a shrimp farm and he was inspired to try this in his home land. His enthusiasm encouraged the Philippine's Bio-Resources International Incorporation to start two projects: a tilapia fish farm in the Qassim Region and a shrimp farming project on the Red Sea coast. From this point, the company has grown to where we are today as one of the most advanced, fully integrated, multi-functional marine aquaculture farms in the world.
Now, we produce a far wider variety of marine products so we have rebranded our business to become National Aquaculture Group. This marks the next step in our evolution in response to the latest stage in our development. Our new name reflects our transformation from a shrimp farming operation to global suppliers of a wide range of marine aquaculture products. Our aim is to work with our customers to ensure optimal performance and realize new horizons of success.

Marine Culture utilizes desert land, saltwater, sunlight, minerals and enormous amounts of carbon dioxide to produce phytoplankton. National Aquaculture Group is developing a commercially viable business, which can contribute significantly to society by providing food and nutrition and, as a positive side effect, possibly help mitigate climate change.

Technology: Technology to cultivate from strain to product is completely developed in-house by a very small team of algae experts, who have over 20 yrs of experience in shrimp hatchery engineering, operations and management.
Marine Culture produces Carotenoids from "Dunaliella Salina" native of Red Sea for human and animal nutrition and "Nannochloropsis gaditana" a non-native strain, adapted to the environment of high saline; high temperature of Saudi Arabia is cultivated in raceways, envisioned to develop next to a power plant.
Marine Culture also conducts active research with "Ulva species" native of Red Sea, to co-culture with shrimp, technology is tested and ready for active commercialization to assist the shrimp farms through a bioremediation process, shrimp graze on Ulva species and reduce FCR, Ulva has antibacterial and antiviral compounds, complementing the shrimp's natural disease resistance.
